Roles and rights per user type

There are a few different roles and rights available in Luzmo. So let’s give you an overview of how can you manage your organization members and their access level!

Roles

There are three different roles within an organization: owner, designer and viewer. Depending on your role, certain actions are (not) available.

• Admin role - besides all of the below, it can also retrieve securables (dashboards & datasets), alerts, scheduled exports, tasks, AI conversations, AI messages and AI message assets from all users in the organization. This is currently only available via API, see this Academy article.
• Owner role - can add members and set their role, view and adapt plan and billing information, view and adapt the legal & compliance information, create Collections, create and save organization themes, create and adapt dashboards and share these to other users, ...
• Designer role - can create and adapt dashboards and share these to other users, ...
• Viewer role - can view dashboards.

With regards to designer and owner user, a number of monthly active designers and viewers are included by default in each price plan. Only users that were active that month will be counted as monthly active viewer/designer.

Rights

The rights a user has to a dashboard / dataset are defined when sharing the resource with them. When creating a dashboard/dataset, the user will automatically be granted the rights 'owner' to that dashboard/dataset. Note: A user with role viewer can only have the rights view.

Dashboard Rights

There are four types of rights a user can have for a dashboard. Each level of rights includes those before it:

• View rights: view the dashboard
• Use rights: duplicate the dashboard and edit or share the duplicated version.
• Edit rights: edit the dashboard, e.g. add filters or change the theme.
• Owner rights: share the dashboard with others or delete it.

Dataset Rights

There are four types of rights a user can have for a dataset. Each level of rights includes those before it:

• View rights: run queries against the dataset through the context of an existing dashboard.
• Use rights: view the databoard and create new queries against the dataset, e.g. build new dashboards, set alerts, create queries via the API, create Flex visualizations.
• Edit rights: edit the dataset, e.g. add columns and use the hierarchy editor.
• Owner rights: share the dataset with others or delete it.
