You can share your dataset by clicking the ‘share’ button on the databoard or dataset details page as well as selecting it from the dataset’s three dot menu. The modal will display a list of the existing sharing configurations. You can modify the current shares or you can add new ones by using the search bar to add either specific users or groups from your Luzmo organization.

You can choose the level of access for each share, giving either viewing rights only, usage rights, editing rights or even making someone else the dataset owner.

  • Users with “Can view” rights can only see the data as it is represented in your dashboards
  • Those with “Can use” can freely consume all data in the dataset
  • The ones with “Can edit” can also modify all dataset and column properties
  • And owners can also share and delete the dataset.

Filters can be applied to each share in order to limit through row level filtering the data that can be viewed by the users. For best practices we recommend that every organization have one designated data “owner” account responsible for managing the data connection and datasets, as well as the Collections. This will ensure all dashboard designers are working with consistent data, that changes are only implemented under consensus and that account overrides are made easier when embedding in your application.

When publicly sharing a dashboard you will see a toggle to enable publicly sharing the datasets used as well.

If a dataset is publicly shared you will see the an Earth globe icon next to its name in the datasets overview page, a "Via shareable link" in the sharing modal and a message indicating "This dataset can be used in dashboards with a public link. Revoke" in the dataset's information page.

In the next section we’ll talk about how to delete datasets.
