Now let’s connect your data by clicking on the blue ‘new dataset’ button. A modal window appears, where you can search for a specific connector on top.

On the left side, you find multiple options including uploading a local file, connecting a web service, a database or creating a plugin.

To demonstrate how this works let’s add a PostgreSQL database. We can either scroll down to the desired connector, select the Databases category or just use the search bar to find it.

We’re then presented with the credentials modal, where you can fill in the necessary values. You can always check out the Academy for more details on the properties expected for a specific connector. If necessary, you can allowlist our application's static IP addresses on your server as specified in the lower part of the modal. This allows our application to send queries to your data source!

After providing credentials you may either select the datasets you wish to connect or for some data sources even create a custom SQL query by switching to the corresponding tab, giving the dataset a name, typing the query and clicking on Create.

You can also create your own plugin, in this case this modal will redirect you to the plugin section of your settings page. You can always consult our developer documentation for more information on how to create your own plugin.

Luzmo also provides demo data to get you started, let’s add a new dataset to demonstrate: click on “New Dataset”, then “Demo data”, select the logistics dataset and click Import. As you can see it immediately appears on the overview page.
