Circular gauge charts compare a single metric to a target and can be conditionally colored.
Similar charts include:
The circular gauge chart can be found underneath the ‘Gauges’ section.
Data can be added to the two dataslots ‘Measure’ and ‘Target’.
Columns with data type ‘numeric’ or ‘hierarchy’ work best for this slot.
The data added to the measure slot will be displayed in the middle of the gauge and by default shows the sum of the values for a numeric column or the count for a hierarchy column. Different aggregations can be set to execute different calculations, e.g. the average.
In case you didn’t set any target yet, the gauge will be generated automatically.
There are two ways to set your own target:
Manual target - you can set a fixed target manually. Go to the chart setting, enable manual target toggle and add needed value there. Note: this setting becomes available as soon as a measure has been set up on the chart.
Target slot - if you have a target column in your dataset you can add it to your chart directly.
Once you set your target, the gauge will change accordingly and your measure will now be displayed against this target.
In the settings of the chart you can choose to show the value, the percentage of the target or the difference to the target.
To make your chart more visually sophisticated, you can enable conditional color. You can completely customize the colors and make your own target groups. By default, we have four groups with assigned colors: red, orange, yellow and green. Once you get closed to your target the color will change accordingly.
In addition, you can adjust the layout options:
Adjusting the arc width
Choosing the arc size
Flipping the arc
Add or remove rounded corners.
